Guidance on accessing the Expedia Static Data Platform

Accessing the Static Data Platform

To ensure simple and reliable automation for partners, security for Expedia data access, and visibility to user access patterns, access to this platform is strictly limited to Expedia Group partners and will require that users adhere to the following steps.

Download Automation

The primary use case for this process is the establishment of an automated update process, driven by partner-side request, and managed by Expedia-side access permissions. To manage both authentication and automation we will be leveraging the same API security protocols that govern access to our XAP API Platform.

Note, while you must have a valid API key with correct permissions to download the actual data files, this documentation will allow users to get an accurate idea of what the full file will look like, if they don't have API access already.

How to Download Static Data Files

Please select the content that best applies to you:

1. Partners Already Accessing the XAP Lodging Search API

Access to the Static Data Platform is managed via a secure API, so users must have the necessary permissions to access any data downloads. We have automatically given all users with access to our XAP Lodging Search API additional permissions to access the Static Data Platform downloads.

Note, if you already have an active API key for the XAP API Platform, this same key is provisioned to access the Static Data Platform as well. Also, you will only need one valid key to access all files, even those localized into other languages.

2. Partners That Do Not Have an XAP Lodging Search API Key

If you currently do not have an API key, but would like to download the Static Data Platform files, you must contact your Expedia Account Manager to request an API key with permissions for the Static Data Download Platform.

3. Once You Have API Access

Once you have access, you can download the API Specification.
