Flight Carrier Restrictions
A guide to all contractual carrier restrictions in place today between Expedia and the airlines we serve
Expedia distributes airline flight pricing and availability through contractual agreements with each of the airlines that we serve. Some of those airlines have stipulations on whether Expedia may forward-distribute their products to partners beyond The Expedia Group.
The list below outlines the contractual carrier restrictions that are in place today. These restrictions apply to all third party Expedia partners and may not be removed, bypassed, or altered by request. This means that Expedia can show prices for the carriers listed below on Expedia.com and the Expedia family of websites, but we are contractually forbidden from providing the same pricing information on any of the carriers listed below to any of our partners for display on their sites when operating in the impacted Points of Sale.
When partners use the Flight Search API to query for flights they will find that some queries may come back with a status code indicating a successful response (200) but the response will be empty of data, because the only flights that meet the request criteria are restricted. For example, if the Flight API searches from JFK to MIA on a US-based API key.
