Launch day checklist for your template site
On the day of your website launch, following these crucial steps in coordination with your Launch Manager will ensure a smooth transition to your final domain.
Step 1: Restore your hosts file
We recommend that you begin by reverting your hosts file to its original settings. This will ensure that your website is accessed correctly through its final domain.
Step 2: Update your DNS Settings
Create a CNAME record pointing your template site URL to the final domain name provided by your Expedia launch manager.
Set the time-to-live (TTL) value to 1800 seconds (30 minutes) to expedite the domain propagation process.
Step 3: Update links
Thoroughly review and update all links on your site that currently point to your White Label Template site URL. Verify that all deep links across your website and mobile app are correctly updated.
Step 4: Update any widgets
If your site utilizes search and cross-sell widgets, update them to function seamlessly with your final domain.
Step 5. Confirm your launch
Inform your Expedia launch manager that you have completed these steps and are ready to go live.
Step 6: Adjust the TTL post-launch
After your site is successfully launched, restore the TTL to its default setting of 86400 seconds (24 hours) or your preferred value.
By adhering to this checklist and maintaining clear communication with your Expedia launch manager, you can ensure a successful and hassle-free website launch.
