Domain and SSL certificate setup

When we’re working on your site, we’ll ask you what you want the domain name—the part of the URL that indicates your brand—of your travel site to be. We’ll generate the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificates that mark your site as secure, unless your organization prefers to do so. Note: Without at least one SSL certificate you will not be able to launch your template site.

Choose a domain name

You’ll create and own the domain of your template site. It can be a subdomain to your main site (for example, travel.YourBrand.com) or its own top-level domain (such as mytravel.com). When selecting a domain name, be sure to choose one that’s relevant to the new site and that represents your unique brand (for example, travelYourBrand.com).

Get SSL certificates

Unless your business needs require you to create your own SSL certificates, we’ll generate them for you at no additional cost via our content delivery network (CDN). Once created, the generated certificates will be automatically renewed every 3 months with no further updates required.

When the certificates have been generated, we’ll provide DNS TXT entries for your technical lead to configure with your DNS provider to validate ownership of the domain. By default, if your domain is a top-level one (such as travelYourBrand.com), we’ll configure both the www and non-www versions so that both will still lead a user to your site. We’ll create certificates for each domain you require—for example, if you need multiple domains to support different countries, currencies, and languages (such as travelYourBrand.com, travelYourBrand.ca, and travelYourBrand.co.uk), each one will need separate DNS entries.

If you choose to create your own SSL certificates, you’ll provide them to us as part of the requirements gathering phase of site creation.
